B’days is now hip. It is an exciting evolution of our company journey from focusing on celebrating birthdays to celebrating life’s many special moments. Seven years in the making and we could not be more ecstatic. So, why hip you ask?
We think of it this way: to be hip is to be in the know. To be appreciative or aware of what’s going on in the world. Our community craves the same connection and appreciation for the people in their lives. And like the many cool things the word hip can be used to describe, they want to bring originality to how they celebrate. Connection and creativity are at the center of why we believe this name perfectly captures our mission and vision for the future.
Now you’re probably thinking, “Ok, that makes sense. I like it. But, why a hippo?”
The simplest answer? They’re flipping cute. But also, the hippo has been meaningful to human civilization for millennia, representing creativity, expression, and life. Ding, ding! Our goal with hip is to bring all of these elements together to make those special moments that much more cherishable for all involved. It’s current as well as aspirational.
Change can be difficult. But we think it can also be fun! The B’days name will always hold a special place in our hearts. Just know that you’ll get the same dedication to creating high-quality experiences that make the people in your life happier on days that matter to them. Happier people, one step at a time.
